What You'll Need
You know that feeling when your lips are cracked, peeling, or just generally rough? I bite mine when I'm nervous, and winter weather makes them even worse. I've been making this lip scrub for years, and it's the easiest fix I've found.
- 3-4 teaspoons white sugar (exfoliant)
- ½ teaspoon jojoba oil (or any carrier oil)
- ½ teaspoon honey (hydration)
- 1 lemon (or any extract for flavor)
- Small bowl
- Jar or container
Step-by-Step
Step 1: Mix the base

Put 3 teaspoons of sugar in your bowl. Add ½ teaspoon of your oil and ½ teaspoon of honey.
Step 2: Add flavor

I went with lemon this time because it's refreshing for summer. Squeeze in as much or as little as you like.
Step 3: Adjust the consistency

Mix everything together until the sugar is evenly coated. I ended up adding another teaspoon of sugar because the lemon juice made mine too wet. You want it granulated but still clumping together when you press it. How much extra sugar you need depends on how much flavor you added.
Step 4: Jar it up

Scoop the scrub into your container and close it tight.
How to Use It
Apply once or twice a week. Scrub it onto your lips in circular motions for 2-3 minutes. Best part? It's edible. So you can just lick it off when you're done and get smooth, soft lips.
This is ridiculously cheap to make, takes maybe 5 minutes, and works great as a gift. It's one of my favorite summer things to do.
Pucker up.
