What You'll Need

I'm obsessed with cuticle oil. If your cuticles get dry, cracky, and gross — especially in the winter — you need this. It's made with natural ingredients, takes about five minutes, and costs way less than store-bought stuff.

  • Castor oil – seals in moisture
  • Jojoba oil – mimics your skin's natural oils
  • Essential oil – I use tea tree (antibacterial), but lavender works great for relaxing
  • Vitamin E oil – helps repair damaged skin
  • Small mixing container
  • Storage container (roller bottle or nail brush bottle)

Step-by-Step

1. Mix your oils

Get a small bowl or cup. Add:

  • 1 tablespoon castor oil
  • 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
  • 5-10 drops essential oil
  • A few drops vitamin E oil

Stir it well. You want everything fully combined.

2. Choose your container

You've got two options:

  • Roller bottle – glides on smooth, holds more oil. This is my favorite.
  • Nail brush bottle – good for covering the whole nail area at once

3. Pour it in

Carefully pour your oil mixture into the container. A funnel makes this easier, but I just pour straight from my mixing cup since it has a spout.

How to Use It

Once a day. Two good options:

  • Right before bed – lets it absorb overnight when you're not washing your hands
  • After a shower – your cuticles are already hydrated, and the oil seals that moisture in

Rub it into your cuticles and let it soak in.

That's it. You're done. Your cuticles will thank you.
