What You'll Need
Celebrate Independence Day with this simple and festive table centerpiece that doubles as a treat holder for your guests. Using just a few red, white, and blue items, you can create a decorative display that’s both fun and functional.
- 1 mason jar (ball jar works well)
- Dried red beans (enough to fill the jar about halfway)
- Red, white, and blue lollipops (6–10, depending on jar size)
- Miniature American flags (3–5)
- Optional: additional red, white, and blue candies or decorations
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Fill the Jar with Red Beans

Pour your dried red beans into the mason jar until it is about halfway full. The beans will act as both a decorative base and a weight to hold your items in place.
Step 2: Insert the Lollipops

Take your lollipops and press them one by one into the beans. Space them evenly around the jar. Push the sticks deep enough into the beans so that the lollipops stand upright and don't tip over. Arrange them at different heights for visual interest.
Step 3: Add the Miniature Flags

Gently insert your miniature American flags into the beans between the lollipops. Spread them out so the flags are visible from all sides of the jar. Adjust the position of the lollipops and flags until you are happy with the arrangement.
Step 4: Display and Serve

Place the finished centerpiece in the middle of your table. Your guests can enjoy the candy throughout the celebration. If you like, add extra red, white, and blue candies around the base of the jar for a fuller look.
Tips for Success
- Use a wide-mouth mason jar for easier arrangement and access to the candy.
- If you don't have red beans, you can substitute with small red candies, red sand, or red tissue paper shreds.
- Choose lollipops with white or blue wrappers to keep the color theme consistent.
- Make multiple smaller centerpieces for a buffet table or individual place settings.
- Keep the jar away from direct sunlight to prevent the lollipops from melting.
